Some Of Us

Some of us don’t like the calm seas,
some of us want to see the wind.

Some of us don’t go to church on Friday,
some of us would like to sit with the trees.

Some of us don’t like the riddle in the smile,
some of us just want the truth in the word.

Some of us don’t try to hide from the darkness,
some of us thrive in the stillness of the night.

Some of us don’t mind the straight and narrow,
some of us prefer the poor man’s conscience.

Some of us don’t want our words to change,
some of us prefer that theirs stay true.

Some of us don’t want to sit on the throne,
some of us work hard to build our own.

Some of us don’t like to dig into the deep,
some of us like to dwell on the surface.

Some of us don’t search for the public eye,
some of us would rather live in obscurity.

Some of us don’t mind if we lose our way,
some of us just want to find today.
